Agromonas: a rapid disease assay for<i>Pseudomonas syringae</i>growth in agroinfiltrated leaves

چکیده

The lengthy process to generate transformed plants is a limitation in current research on the interactions of model plant pathogen Pseudomonas syringae with hosts. Here we present an easy method called agromonas, where quantify P. growth agroinfiltrated leaves Nicotiana benthamiana using cocktail antibiotics select plates. As proof concept, demonstrate that transient expression PAMP receptors reduces bacterial growth, and depletion host immune gene type-III effector increase agromonas assays. We show can rapidly achieve structure?function analysis components test function hydrolases. easy, fast robust for routine disease assays various strains without transforming or bacteria. assay offers reliable approach further comprehensive immunity.

Rapid Changes in Transpiration in Banana Leaves.

Rapid changes in the transpiration rate from a leaf or leafy shoot as a result of excision of that leaf or shoot have been observed in many plants bv many investigators (1, 2, 5, 7, 10, 11, 12, 13, 16). In banana plants, both photosynthesis and transpiration have been found to change rapidly following excision of the leaf (7). The mechanism underlying such rapid changes in transpiration has bee...

Rapid Determination of Nitrogen in Cane Leaves

An evaluation of a new non-destructive technique for the determination of total nitrogen in cane leaves using a Technicon infra-red reflectance analyzer is described. More than 200 leaf samples were analysed and the results indicated that a nitrogen content between 1 and 3% can be accurately determined in less than a minute. Regression analysis indicated that the N values determined by infra-re...

Assessment of a rapid immunochromatographic assay for the detection of avian influenza viruses

Rapid spreading of the low pathogenic avian influenza virus (AIV) caused by the H9N2 subtype and the highly pathogenic AIV caused by H5N1 have caused serious economic losses in the poultry industries of Asia. Therefore, the early detection of AIVs is crucial for the control of the disease. In the present study, the applicability of a rapid immunochromatographic (RIC) assay, which specifically d...

Rapid coliphage detection assay.

A rapid coliphage detection assay was developed, based on the phage-induced release of beta-galactosidase from cells of Escherichia coli. The assay could detect as few as five coliphage per sample without an overnight incubation period. The range of acceptable assay parameters was identified.

Evaluation of a rapid urine antigen assay for the detection of invasive pneumococcal disease in children.

OBJECTIVE Streptococcus pneumoniae remains the most common cause of occult bacteremia, bacterial pneumonia, and meningitis in young febrile children. We sought to determine the utility of a pneumococcal urine antigen assay among young febrile children at varying risk of invasive pneumococcal disease. METHODS We prospectively enrolled 5 groups of children, 3 months to 5 years of age, who prese...
